Does anybody have a TV tuner on their computer?

Could I use it to hook up my VCR to rip a VHS?

Woohoo! It's working. Now I just need to figure out how to capture video in an encoded fashion. DivX or XviD or even MPEG2 for all I care.

...or just implement a fucking huge hard drive.

Yes. TV tuner cards come with drivers & software. Most will have video capture software. Check your driver cd, or find all that's available for your card online. Let google be thy friend.
