I'm on a cake kick and can't think of what to bake next. Any suggestions?

Winning suggestion might get to eat it this weekend when I'm in town (assuming you go to Rolla and I can get a slice to you easily).

I made a cheesecake and pumpkin cake from time for Rez. I liked it and I think he did too.

I made it again for my family and they loved it as well. I do not have the recipe for it on me but it does require some decent equipment and time.

Well, get me the recipe and I'll try it :) it sounds interesting.

Buy a kielbasa. Slice it so into circles about 1/4" thick. Put kielbasa in a frying pan and brown in on medium heat until it looks more cooked that before you put it on there.

Add 1/3 cup spicy mustard and 1/3 cup grape jelly (lower the heat a bit before this...) - it'll melt. Keep stirring it all up until the sauce is homogeneous.

While all this is going on, cook some macaroni and cheese.

Serve the macaroni and cheese on a plate, then put some of your saucy sausage slices on top of that.

nom nom nom it.

>spicy mustard

Eating these three things together sounds disgusting.

It will probably be delicious, I would bet cooking grape jelly would make it saucy and delicious. Although, you probably could replace it with brown sugar, thought I wouldn't know until I tried it.

Heh, that's what I told him to do. Another idea is to just keep it around so you can keep making more bread. It goes really fast.

Twice baked potatoes.

Great way to prepare potatoes? Or greatest way to prepare potatoes?

Worst case scenario, just buy a frozen pack from the grocery store. Of course, they aren't as good as homemade, but it's surprising how well they freeze.

Scallions are the best part. They give normally bland looking potatoes some much needed character in the form of color.

yo dawg, I heard you liked potatoes...

I made this tonight, and it ruled.

Easily reheatable, cookable in about 20-30 minutes, cleans up easy, and costs about $5 + Spices + Rice!

I couldn't find ground pork at Kroger so I substituted for Extra Mild Breakfast Sausage since it only has sage and some other minor spices.

Serves 2-3.

This sounds pretty good, I think I will have to try it one night.

What cooking hardware is at your disposal? Are there any foods you don't like or are allergic to?

I am not allergic to anything. I have a rice cooker, standard pots and pans, and a crock pot that I am quite attached to.

I do this for a somewhat quick and easy and healthy dinner that can serve up to four people with only one pan. Probably takes 20 minutes tops. This is also stuff you can find at every walmart.

Chicken breasts (frozen or thawed, but I have only tried it with frozen)
Oil
Frozen veggies
Brown rice

Heat up some oil in a pan on medium to high heat and drop the chicken in. Once the surface of one side is white (not all the way), flip them over and do the same thing on the other side.

Once both surfaces/sides are semi cooked, drop you frozen veggies in and cover, keeping the flame on medium heat. The moisture from the frozen veggies will keep the chicken moist as well as provide the steaming to cook the veggies without making them soggy.

Keep track of it and rotate the chicken when necessary and add salt or any other seasonings at this time. If you are unsure if the chicken is cooked, go ahead and cut it open. Some of the juices might flow out but not too much to where it gets bone dry.

Hello, I am Mordecai and I expect to post a lot in this forum. If you guys don't remember, I'm Matt's friend that also cooks a shit ton.

I specialize in Mexican food since I live in Texas but have cooked other things as well. UHHH I guess I will randomly post recipes that I have gotten from my mother and grandmother and am open to other questions and such.

Viva mexico.

Sure. My grandpa sometimes makes this:

1 peeled, seeded, diced mango
3-5 diced medium tomatoes
2 cloves of garlic, minced
2 jalapeno peppers, diced (alter to amount of hot you want)
about a small handful of chopped cilantro
fresh lime juice
a little olive oil (maybe 1-2 tablespoons)

Put all these in a bowl or a mortar and pestle and combine them all until well mixed. Serve with some thinly sliced avocado or prepared guacamole and salt to taste.

Not a fan of mango? Cut the fruit, it's just as good. The sweet is just to help with the spice and make it taste a little different.

The avocado part sounds good with salsa, the mango though I will have to cut, not because I dislike them but because I am going to have one hell of a time trying to find fresh/tastey mango anywhere in Missouri, especially this time of year.

I don't know if you live in Rolla but I recall seeing the Wal-Mart in Rolla selling mangoes. This was just about a month ago.

If you happen to find atulfo mangoes, grab 'em. They are tasty, work great in this recipe, and I get a slight hint of sweet corn+orange when I eat them. They sell in the spring and fall.
